Sending Units In For Repair
MicroTally Repairs
Our MicroTally units have been discontinued for several years. If you are in need of repair you can contact us to see if we can repair the unit. Costs will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
NanoCount Warranty & Repairs
Our NanoCount 1000 units have a warranty which covers all repairs under normal use for 2 years. All repairs under warranty will be done at no cost.
The warranty does NOT cover the following:
- Extreme physical damage that has obviously occurred from some form of abuse (i.e. taking a hammer to the unit).
- Liquid getting inside of the unit and causing damage (such as drinks being spilled on the unit or the unit being dropped in a puddle).
- Obvious tampering might void the warranty (i.e. removing the air switch or pulling out the display).
- User-replaced parts will not be covered by our warranty.
- The battery is user-replaceable and is not covered under warranty.
So as long as you take care of the unit and don't try to open it more than to replace the battery it should be covered by our warranty.
Please see Sending Units In For Repair below.
NanoCount Repairs Outside Of Warranty
If 2 years have elapsed since purchasing your unit, or if damage has been caused to the unit that is not covered by the warranty, then you will need to pay for repairs to your units.
Our minimum shop fee is $50. Most repairs that are done out of warranty will cost $50 per unit (plus shipping costs), if the unit display does not need replaced. Even if your unit does not have a problem you are welcome to send the unit in for a general check up and testing for the same $50 fee.
Units with more serious problems (such as a broken display, or faulty CPU) may cost more to repair or that may even be beyond repair. After inspection if we determine a unit will cost more then $50 to repair we will notify you before proceeding. And in the case where a unit is beyond repair, you will not be charged for the inspection and we will inform you of the problem.
Units will be inspected and tested before and after repairs. If the electronics inside the unit are dirty or have a film on them, they will be cleaned. Units will be upgraded to the latest firmware available and will receive any appropriate hardware upgrades.
Repair work is guaranteed, if the unit had a specific problem that it was sent in for and the problem is still encountered within 60 days of the repair, you can send it back with no additional fees charged to re-inspect and repair the problem.
Please see Sending Units In For Repair below.
PicoCount Warranty & Repairs
The PicoCount 2500 units are completely sealed, and therefore will typically have no repairs. The PicoCount 4500 units are mostly sealed, but have replaceable air switches. If your unit falls under warranty we will repair it or we will replace the unit with another one.
PicoCount 2500 and PicoCount 4500 units have a warranty which covers any defects under normal use for 6 years.
The warranty does NOT cover the following:
- Extreme physical damage, such as vandalism, that has obviously occurred from some form of abuse (i.e. jamming a screwdriver into the connector and bending/breaking leads).
- Obvious lack of care for the air switches (i.e. nozzles filled completely with mud).
- If any of the pins on the 4-pin connector break (which cannot happen unless something is jammed into the socket).
So the bottom line is:
- Don't leave hoses unattached or caps off the nozzles with the unit on the side of the road, and don't try to bend the pins on the connector.
- As long as you take good care of the air switches and the 4-pin connector and you'll be covered for quite some time.
If you do have a unit (dead or alive) that is outside of our warranty, even if it has been vandalized, we will credit you 10% on purchasing a replacement unit if you send the damaged unit back to us.
Please see Sending Units In For Repair below.
PicoCount Repairs Outside Of Warranty
PicoCount 4500 units have replaceable air switches, so units outside of warranty can still be sent in for repair for air switch problems, for a $50 shop fee. If the unit has other problems in the sealed electronics we will not be able to repair it. PicoCount 2500 units are fully sealed in every way and cannot have air switches replaced, they are a life-of-battery design.
If you do have a unit (dead or alive) that is outside of our warranty, even if it has been vandalized, we will credit you 10% on purchasing a replacement unit if you send the damaged unit back to us.
Please see Sending Units In For Repair below.
Road Tube Simulator Repairs
Our Road Tube Simulator units have been discontinued for several years. If you are in need of repair you can contact us to see if we can repair the unit. Costs will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
CountBuddy Warranty & Repairs
The CountBuddy (which is an accessory for the PicoCount units), is completely sealed, and therefore has no repairs. All warranty work is a full unit replacement. Warranty will fully cover the CountBuddy for 2 years under normal use.
Please see Sending Units In For Repair below.
Our CountBuddy II units (units with an LCD display) have a warranty which covers all repairs under normal use for 2 years.

Our download adapter warranty is good for 90 days. If your download adapter stops working or is having some other problem and has not been obviously abused then we will cover it under warranty for 90-days.
If your download adapter is not working please be sure to first make sure you have the FTDI USB-to-serial driver installed (in newer operating systems this is often available without downloading). You can find the drivers on our download page.

Sending In Units For Repair
It is best if you contact us before sending in units for repair, so we can determine if the problem sounds like a unit problem or if it sounds like software or other issues.
